Performance
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Presentations per hour | 60 per robot; up to 300 per operator (batch picking with pick wall) |
| Max system capacity (planning) | Up to 96 robots |
| Max speed | 2,500 mm/s |
| Max acceleration | 1,500 mm/s² |
| Typical braking distance | 1,500 mm |
Payload & Bins
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Maximum bin payload | 20 kg |
| Maximum item weight | 5 kg |
| Bin dimensions | 720 (L) × 420 (W) × 285 (H) mm |
| Bins per level (typical) | 5 |
| Optional bins | Steel fire-rated bins (subject to fire engineer approval) |
Pick Wall
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Bin capacity | 12 bins |
| Pick-to-light | Sequential (one at a time) with quantity display |
| Bin tracking | RFID automatic detection on add/remove |
| Mobility | Mobile (operator-directed) |
| Order assignment | Automatic via batch optimization |
| Multi-bin orders | Supported |
| Throughput | Up to 300 bin presentations per hour per operator |
Note: Weight verification is provided by integrated platform scales at pick stations.
The pick wall enables batch picking of up to 12 orders simultaneously while keeping all robots continuously working. Sequential pick-to-light eliminates errors, and dual confirmation (scan + weight) ensures accuracy.
Racking & Geometry Requirements
Shelfbot installs on standard steel storage racking. Rail alignment, aisle straightness, and clearances must be verified during commissioning.
Planning Ranges
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Racking standard | AS4084:2023 compliant steel storage racking |
| Aisle width | 940–950 mm |
| Aisle deviation | Max ±5 mm difference between top and bottom measurements |
| Height range | 4–10 m (up to ~21 levels at 10 m) |
| Max aisle length | 48 m (18 bays @ 2,691 mm) |
| Bottom shelf height | ~300 mm |
| Top shelf clearance | ≥800 mm |
| Row widths supported | 840 mm, 900 mm, 1200 mm |
What We Check On-Site
- Aisle width and deviation (top vs bottom)
- Plumbness and consistency of uprights
- Shelf heights and clearances (bottom shelf height, top clearance)
- Rail straightness/parallelism and fixed mounting approach
- Access at pick stations, guarding, and service clearance

Electrical Requirements
Per Robot
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Supply voltage | 240 VAC ±10% |
| Frequency | 50–60 Hz |
| Per-robot circuit | Dedicated 16A circuit (must not be shared) |
| Circuit protection | User-supplied 16A breaker or inline fuse |
| Server power | Separate 10A outlet |
| Idle / operational current | ~2 A idle / up to ~12 A operational |
| Outlet type (site) | 15A industrial GPO on racking upright (IP66 recommended) |
Installer Notes
- Dedicated circuit per robot (do not share with other equipment)
- Outlet position: inside racking upright, ~320 mm above ground (typical)
- Cable routing via ceiling drop and conduit inside upright (typical)
- Cabling must comply with AS/NZS 3000 (wiring rules)

Environmental Conditions
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Operating temperature | 5°C to 55°C |
| Humidity | 5–90% |
| Max altitude | 2,000 m |
Practical Guidance
- Confirm ambient temperatures across seasons (especially near roller doors)
- Avoid condensation conditions in aisles and pick stations
- Keep robot aisles clear of loose items or overfilled bins
For operational procedures, see the user manual (PDF).
Integration Prerequisites
Shelfbot relies on your external WMS/ERP/e-commerce platform for products, inventory, and orders. Integration is via secure API.
Your System Needs
- Unique SKUs (including variants)
- Unique order ID and line ID
- Documented API with secure access for product, inventory, and order endpoints
Data We Request to Size Your System
This is the fastest way to confirm fit, storage coverage, and throughput sizing.
What to Send
| Data | Details |
|---|---|
| SKU master data | SKU, description, dimensions/weight (preferred), stock on hand |
| Outbound orders | Date, order number, line ID, SKU, quantity (ideally 12 months; minimum 30 days) |
What You Get Back
- Estimated bin count and % of inventory that fits in bins
- Recommended aisle count and racking configuration
- Robots + pick stations required to meet throughput
- Growth scenarios (if requested)
