What is Shelfbot?

A Goods-to-Person ASRS designed to be understood at a glance. Bins are stored in racking, robots retrieve them and bring them to pick stations. An operator uses a mobile pick wall to batch pick up to 12 orders simultaneously with sequential pick-to-light guidance. Robots return bins to high-density storage. Simple workflow, maximum throughput.

  • Designed, manufactured & supported in Australia
  • Runs on standard warehouse racking
  • Subscription model (Robots as a Service)

Automation Made Simple

Store

Inventory is stored in standard Shelfbot bins inside racking.

Retrieve

Robots fetch bins on demand and bring them to the pick station.

Pick

An operator uses a mobile pick wall to batch pick up to 12 orders. Sequential pick-to-light guides each pick. Platform scales provide weight verification.

Return

The bin returns to storage, ready for the next request.

Simple by design, not by limitation. Shelfbot's behaviour is predictable, constraints are documented, and outcomes are measurable.

What Shelfbot changes in day-to-day operations

Less walking, more picking

Goods-to-Person eliminates most travel time. Instead of operators walking kilometres each shift, Shelfbot brings the work to them.

Higher storage density

Use warehouse volume properly with vertical storage up to 10 metres, narrow aisles, and high bin density — without redesigning your whole site.

Accuracy that scales

Barcode-guided workflows reduce picking errors and make training simpler. Accuracy improves because the process is consistent, not because people have to be perfect.

Safer, more ergonomic work

Operators work at fixed pick stations. Interlocked access and perimeter guarding keep people out of the robot aisle during operation.

Designed to fit real warehouses

Shelfbot is built around standard racking and typical warehouse variability — not perfect floors and custom buildings. It's retrofittable, modular, and built for practical scaling over time.

  • Retrofittable to existing racking (AS4084 compliant)
  • Single aisle to multi-aisle deployments
  • Scale by adding robots, aisles, bins, and stations
  • Mains-powered system (no onboard batteries)

Where Shelfbot fits

Shelfbot sits between manual operations and highly bespoke automation. It delivers real throughput and density gains without requiring a site to become an automation project.

If a workflow needs heavy customisation or constant tuning, it's usually a sign the complexity cost is too high. Shelfbot focuses on the high-value 80% and stays honest about the rest.

Software & integration

Shelfbot integrates with your existing WMS/ERP via secure API. Orders and inventory changes flow between systems so Shelfbot can retrieve the right bins and keep stock accurate.

  • Products / SKUs
  • Inventory transactions
  • Order ingestion and status updates

What your WMS needs

  • Unique SKUs (including variants)
  • Unique order IDs and line IDs
  • A documented API for products, inventory, and orders

Safety you can explain

Shelfbot uses an interlocked pick station, emergency stops, and perimeter guarding around robot aisles. The goal is simple: operators interact with bins, not moving machinery.

Note: Shelfbot is not assessed to be intrinsically safe for storing flammable liquids, solvents, or hazardous chemicals.

Planning for installation

For engineers and installers, the docs cover racking requirements, electrical requirements, and site preparation. Start with the technical data sheet, then the electrical spec.

Commercial model built to reduce risk

Shelfbot is offered as a subscription model (Robots as a Service). That means lower upfront risk, predictable ongoing costs, and the ability to scale without a "big bang" automation project.

  • OPEX-friendly approach
  • Rapid deployment and predictable scaling
  • Support and maintenance handled by Shelfbot
